Creative and Dreams Music Network, LLC and CEO Fred Cannon, KCHS are proud to welcome the talented Georgina White.
Georgina White is a British stage and screen actress turned singer/songwriter influenced by jazz, soul and music theatre.
The daughter of an opera singer, Georgina grew up just outside London, in rural Hertfordshire, listening to the rich operatic tones of her mother; she also loved listening to the great female divas and the sultry tones of Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee. Georgina trained as a classical singer but preferred singing many other genres.
Georgina was an accomplished musician from a young age, playing piano, bassoon and saxophones to a high standard. Being a huge fan of Shakespeare and dramatic literature, Georgina also fell in love with role playing and the world of acting.
Georgina made her West End debut at just 15 where she was chosen to play the leading role of Laurey in the National Youth Music Theatre’s UK Tour of Oklahoma! Georgina had performed at Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, The Royal National Theatre and been directed by Sir Alan Ayckbourn before she was 18. Georgina then won a place at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) where she trained as an actor and continued her love for singing, freelancing at jazz clubs and cabarets.
At 22 Georgina created her first musical group – all female jazz quartet ‘G&T’. Georgina enjoyed singing at high end functions with this group. She also worked as an actor on TV, in plays, musicals and actor/musician projects, much of her 20s was spent working as a ‘singing actor’ – playing roles which required her to sing in different styles at prestigious theatres across the UK.
Georgina created vocal harmony trio The Sass Sisters in 2018 acting as arranger, manager and singer/pianist. The girls have enjoyed singing a variety of different styles in close harmony at festivals and musical venues in and around London including Standon Calling Festival, Toulouse Lautrec and even performed a special event ‘An Evening With The Sass Sisters’ at The Maltings Arts Theatre.
Arranging for The Sass Sisters gave Georgina the confidence to write her own music and in 2021 she wrote and composed her one woman musical play ‘Villainess’ which is in pre-production off West End. She also released moody debut single Misfits, which tells the love story of two society misfits who, at first, seem to fix one other but gradually a toxic relationship unfolds. Her inspiration for the song stems from a feeling of never quite fitting in and always being drawn towards doing the unconventional things in life. She brings her love of vivid theatrics and story-telling into her songwriting.
Georgina continues to work as an actor, having just won her first supporting role in a feature film and as a vocalist is delighted to be working on her first album, now with the amazing expertise and guidance of Fred Cannon. Fred spotted Georgina in the street at the age of just 16 – it is only now, however, that Georgina has felt ready to fully realise her creative musical potential, with a wealth of life experience, heart break, love, grief, rejection, success, failure, ups, downs, highs, lows and everything in between.
Having played so many different roles throughout her career, Georgina is so excited to see where this new journey of self-discovery takes her with an open heart and authentic voice.
