Ferlin Husky has sold more than 20 million records in his career. His hits include “Gone,” “Wings of a Dove,” “A Dear John Letter” and “Country Music Is Here To Stay.” Husky proved to be an all-around entertainer, appearing in eighteen motion pictures alongside such famous Hollywood stars as the Gabors, Henry Fonda, Mamie Van Doran, Glen Ford, John Carradine, Jayne Mansfield, Lon Chaney and Basil Rathbone. He was honored by the Hollywood community with a star on the Hollywood Boulevard “Walkway of Stars.”Husky also made memorable television appearances on the Kraft Television Theatre followed by a two-week gig as CBS’s choice for Arthur Godfrey’s TV and radio replacement. He made frequent appearances on many of the era’s top-notch talk shows including Ed Sullivan, Steve Allen, Mike Douglas, Merv Griffin, Dean Martin and the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Husky also had a network show of his own. His road show traveled to all the Canadian provinces and fifty states.Ferlin joined First Generation Records and recorded his hits and new songs under the production of Pete Drake.
In 2010, Ferlin Husky was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
