Pete “Mix Master” Hammond is credited on 11 #1 hits and 55 top 10 hits out of 140 United Kingdom single releases. He is considered one of the best “mixers” in the world today.
In his first year as a sound engineer, Pete Hammond engineered and co-produced several hits landing 12 United Kingdom Top 40s.
He continued to be one of the United Kingdom’s most sought after engineers and producers when he took over the London studio “The Workhouse,” which produced several international hits including United Kingdom’s #1 singles by Paul Young, Musical Youth and T’PAU.
He further left his stamp on the United Kingdom pop world after a stint with Pete Waterman’s PWL organization, where he sold millions of records by producing and mixing for artists such as Kylie Minogue, Rick Astley, Donna Summer, Banarama and boy band Take That, which featured Robbie Williams.
During this time period he also worked with Japanese band T.R.F. to make it sound more European. Utilizing innovative thinking Hammond is responsible for many of the musical parts, sound effects and structural arrangements. With total control on the project all the way down to the mixing, Pete found the key ingredients making the group a smash in the Japanese market. He has since been responsible for remixing all of the T.R.F. albums, which have gone on to sell more than 30 million units in Japan.
In 2003, Pete notched several more successes writing and producing with Bruce Elliot-Smith including the massive club hit “Love Me Right” by Angel City (Ministry of Sound).
These days Pete continues to make his mark on the music world working with some of the largest stars in the business such as Kylie Minogue and continues to bring out 80’s style mixes on several top songs for artists such as Wynonna Judd, Ronnie McDowell, Bill Medley, Plumb and more.
