Billy Walker, “the Tall Texan,” moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1959. In 1960, he joined the Grand Ole Opry. As a recording artist and songwriter, Walker’s career featured 32 Top 10 hits, six #1 hits and more than 100 Billboard chart records. He hosted his own syndicated television show called “Billy Walker’s Country Carnival” for several years, and appeared on every major country music television show in the United States.
