Creative and Dreams Music Network and Fred Cannon proudly welcome actress Melinda Chilton to their network of creative professionals.
Before she became a model and actress, Melinda Chilton was first a Midwest farmer’s daughter. Her hometown of Durand, Illinois is only two miles wide and two miles long with a population of 1100. Melinda attributes her genuine “what you see is what you get” personality to growing up on a farm in a Mayberry kind of town.
After high school, Melinda moved to Chicago where she received a contract with Elite Models. She also joined a Shakespeare theater group called Inclusive Theater, where she played the role of Helen in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Melinda moved into films when she landed a role in the movie With Honors, opposite Patrick Dempsey, Joe Pesci and Brendan Frasier.
After moving from Chicago to Los Angeles, Melinda was introduced to the world of independent films. She has since appeared in Fox Searchlight’s Hitchcock, where she plays Hollywood stuntwoman Margo Epper, opposite Anthony Hopkins and Scarlett Johansson.
Melinda also had a supporting role in Saving Grace B. Jones, which was written and directed by Connie Stevens.
James Westby, a favorite independent filmmaker at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, cast Melinda in his latest film, Rid of Me, which can be seen on Showtime.
Melinda has also appeared on NBC’s The Office and ABC’s The Jimmy Kimmel Show.
Melinda can be seen in the series Proper Manors, where she plays a former beauty pageant contestant who is now mentally ill and homeless.
In addition to film and television acting, Melinda produces a web series called Learn it in an Hour. In each episode, Melinda has one hour to learn a new
skill, and then entertain her audience with it. You can watch the
first season of “Learn it in an Hour” on blip.tv.
